About Us

The Biodiversity of Singapore (BOS) is hosted by the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM), BoS gratefully acknowledges the generous help from the naturalists and scientists who provided specimen images. Equally vital were the contributions of many taxonomic experts who helped with species identifications and verifications.

BoS also features many specimens from biodiversity discovery projects (see list of projects below) carried out by NUS (LKCNHM, DBS: Department of Biological Sciences, TMSI: Tropical Marine Sciences Institute) and the National Parks Board (NParks).

These projects were made possible through research support from LKCNHM, NParks, Ministry of Education (MOE), Public Utilities Board (PUB) and Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS).

BoS has evolved from, and incorporates information from its predecessor, the Digital Nature Archive, which was made possible through a generous grant by HSBC.
